Day 1: Encountering God's Holiness
Reading: Exodus 3:1-6
Devotional: Just as Moses encountered God in the burning bush, we too are called to recognize God's holiness in our lives. The command to remove his sandals reminds us that we must approach God with reverence and humility. Today, reflect on areas of your life where you may have become too casual in your relationship with God. How can you cultivate a deeper sense of awe and respect for His holiness? Remember, God desires to use you, but first calls you to be set apart and holy. Pray for God to reveal any "sandals" you need to remove - habits, attitudes, or sins that are hindering your closeness with Him.
Day 2: Hearing God's Call
Reading: 1 Samuel 3:1-10
Devotional: God called Moses by name, just as He called Samuel. Are you listening for God's voice in your life? Sometimes we're so busy or distracted that we miss His gentle promptings. Take time today to be still and listen. Ask God to speak to you through His Word, through prayer, or through circumstances. Like Moses and Samuel, respond with "Here I am, Lord." Be open to how God might be calling you to serve Him, even if it seems daunting or unexpected. Remember, God doesn't call the qualified; He qualifies the called.
Day 3: Embracing God's Grace
Reading: Ephesians 2:1-10
Devotional: The sermon emphasized that we are chosen by God not because of our own merit, but because of His grace. Reflect on times when you've felt unworthy or unqualified for God's love or calling. Remember that, like Moses, your past mistakes don't disqualify you from God's purpose. His grace is sufficient. Today, thank God for specific ways He has shown you grace. How can you extend that same grace to others, especially those you might consider undeserving?
Day 4: Surrendering to God's Will
Reading: Romans 12:1-2
Devotional: Moses had to surrender his plans and comfort to follow God's will. Similarly, we are called to offer ourselves as "living sacrifices." What areas of your life are you still holding back from God? It might be a relationship, a career ambition, or a cherished sin. Today, prayerfully consider what full surrender to God looks like in your life. Ask Him for the strength to let go of anything that's hindering your obedience. Remember, God's plans for you are good, even when they're challenging.
Day 5: Representing Christ in the World
Reading: Matthew 5:13-16
Devotional: The sermon reminded us that as Christians, we represent Jesus wherever we go. Just as Israel was called to be set apart, we too are called to be "salt and light" in the world. Reflect on your daily interactions - at work, with family, in public spaces. How well are you representing Christ? Ask God to help you shine His light, especially in difficult situations or relationships. Remember, your actions may be the only "Bible" some people read. Pray for opportunities to demonstrate Christ's love in tangible ways today.
